Throughout her life, Jo C. Willems has been dedicated to the pursuit of art. Years of drawing, painting, and teaching others how to truly see have shaped both her artistic practice and her personal journey. Through decades of exploration and learning, she has developed a distinctive visual voice that reflects a deep understanding of observation, expression, and craftsmanship.

Now at a stage in life that invites both reflection and anticipation, Willems’ work is informed by the insights gained from looking back on her experiences while continuing to explore new perspectives. Her art examines the richness of this intersection between memory, wisdom, and ongoing discovery.

Working primarily in gouache, oil-based polychrome pencil, and graphite, Willems creates thoughtful and evocative works that embody the culmination of a lifelong commitment to artistic growth. Each piece reflects her enduring curiosity, technical mastery, and appreciation for the power of seeing the world with clarity and intention.
