Art scholarship: Pauline Hunt‘s Legacy

About Pauline:

Pauline Hunt’s Artwork was inspired by the natural beauty that surrounded her. Not only an artist, she was also a champion downhill mountain bike racer, mother, and dedicated commmunity member who volunteered countless hours supporting her belowved community of Revelstoke.

ALS & Moving to Digital Art:

Despite losing the use of her hands to ALS (amyotropic lateral sclerosis/Lou Gehrig’s disease) Pauline adapted from a paintbrush to a mouse. Her digital artwork interprets patterns and texture in our personal landscapes. As social beings, we strive to be part of a community, looking for patterns in a chaotic world. How are we the same – how are we different? Pauline strived to take these patterns that we know and resonate with and turn them around – out of place or in just the right place. It’s all in the eyes of the beholder.

Art Scholarship for Revelstoke Secondary School

The grace and fortitude with which Pauline lived with her progressive neurodegenerative illness inspired many. She continues to inspire us today. After passing away in 2021, one of her wishes was to establish an art scholarship for a Revelstoke Secondary School graduating students. All proceeds made from the sale of her art will contribute towards this legacy.
