Artist Orion Alexis has been drawing and painting since childhood, developing an early love of sketching that eventually evolved into a passion for photography. After years spent exploring Vancouver with a camera, particularly through night photography, Alexis returned to painting as a creative outlet after becoming a parent. Inspired by artists such as James Gurney, Alexis began painting regularly in watercolour and soon developed a love for plein air painting. Today, Alexis enjoys the immediacy and challenge of working in watercolour from life, using a portable easel to paint outdoors and connect with the landscapes and environments around him.
