About The Piece

‘Woolscapes | Water, Earth, Sky’ is a richly textured exploration of landscape, memory, and materiality. Using raw carded wool, Nicola McGarry transforms natural fibres into an expressive interpretation of the land, where colour, texture, and form evoke the rhythms and contours of the environment. Layered with depth and movement, the piece invites viewers to slow down and experience the tactile qualities of the medium while reflecting on our connection to place.

This piece was originally exhibited at the Kelowna Public Art Gallery, from August 2025 to February 2026. Woolscapes exemplifies McGarry’s thoughtful approach to fibre art, where craftsmanship and storytelling come together to create a work that is both visually striking and deeply immersive.
