About The Piece

‘Silverware Wings’ is a piece by Zuzana Riha created in 2024. In this sculpture the small prongs of a fork become the talons perched in flight, the slender blade of a knife a tail-feather, all transformed utensils and scrap metal rising into avian form. The gleaming metal surface captures the light and surrounding space so that the bird seems animated, shifting subtly as you walk past. In the artist’s vision of connecting humans and the natural world, this work subtly asserts that all beings matter equally, and that the tools of our everyday lives can be reborn into creatures of wonder.
