“Enchanted” is a piece by Melanie MacVoy based on old growth cedars in Fernie’s Cedar Valley.

“Last year I was working on a large Lizard Range painting when I accidentally put a large slash through the canvas while shifting things around in my studio. It was unrepairable but I saved the stretcher frame and recently decided to re-stretch it with some new raw canvas. And I’m so glad I did.

This is my redemption painting, a lush forest scene inspired by a wander in a new to me pocket of old growth in Fernie’s Cedar Valley. I like how the hanging branches make you feel like you are standing under the canopy of this massive giant cedar.” – Melanie MacVoy
