“Cobalt Lake, Bugaboos”  is a piece by Melanie MacVoy created in 2023 based in Bugaboo Provincial Park, B.C.

“This was a really tricky composition but something I wanted to check off my painting list and challenge myself with. The Bugaboos landscape is so glacial and prehistoric looking.

I wanted to concentrate on the lake so I made it front and centre. I also wanted to add the haunting spire, which is classic bugaboos scenery but it was difficult trying to make it not dominate the scene so I hid the peak in the clouds.” – Melanie MacVoy
