Karl is a retired mountain guide based in Revelstoke, BC. He refines items like salvaged logs, scavenged lumber, stone, and worn-out parts from bicycles, autos, and appliances, into raw materials. These recycled items, with their inherent imperfections, are often combined with exotic hardwoods from the “shorts” pile at specialty wood supply shops to create unique pieces of useful, functional art. Karl’s signature work is cutting boards, charcuterie boards, and trivets. Candle holders, lamps, and simple furniture are also part of his repertoire.
