‘Weight of Time’ is a piece by Valerie Speer based in the high Purcell Mountain Range of British Columbia.

“This painting was inspired high in the Purcells, in a stunning area called Hatteras. My friend Zuzana Riha and I spent days hiking and painting while staying at the Alpine Club of Canada General Mountaineering Camp this past summer.

Being in wild places, surrounded by extreme beauty, and truly feeling how small we are on this planet, it’s a humbling and exhilarating experience. That energy lives in this piece.“
