Zuzana Riha | Sprocket The Moose
About The Piece
‘Sprocket the Moose’ is a piece by Zuzana Riha created in 2024 based on the Western Moose. Riha’s humour comes into play with this moose seemingly bursting through the wall by the addition of two legs, intended to be hung below the moose head. Sprocket stands as a striking example of Zuzana Riha’s commitment to revisiting discarded materials and breathing new life into them, here in the form of a majestic moose constructed from recycled mountain bike tires and parts. Through the imposing antlers shaped from old sprockets or bike components (hence the name “Sprocket”), Riha creates a creature both familiar and uncanny: the wild icon of the moose.
