About The Piece

‘Bruce’ is a piece by Hayley Stewart created in 2025 based on a classic west coast grizzly bear. As a Revelstoke local, bears are constantly intertwined into the lifestyle, living harmoniously side by side.

Hayley’s bright colour palette with her favourite teal colour shines through in this duo colour painting. Her spray painted background plays through the piece subtly in the left face of the grizzly. But it’s the eyes, in a soft pink & orange hue that brings the entire piece to life.

‘Life hasn’t been without its challenges lately, but painting through the heavy stuff has always been my way forward. Every brushstroke is a reminder that even in dark seasons, art has the power to ground, heal, and transform. Bruce is proof that resilience can look soft, strong, and steady all at once.’
