About The Piece

‘Glimpse of the Immemse’ is a piece by Valerie Speer based in International Basin of British Columbia. This painting was inspired by Valerie’s experience with the Alpine Club of Canada’s Artist Week in 2022. This piece was originally shown at the Art Gallery of Golden for their ‘Our Fragile Environments’ exhibit in 2023.

“Inspiration abounded while being immersed in the alpine of International Basin during Artist Week with the Alpine Club of Canada. Myself and numerous artists spent days hiking and painting this stunning area while experiencing ideal weather. While painting this large version in studio I re-lived the awe and wonder I felt.”
