Stuart Arnett

Calgary, Alberta

Stuart Arnett is a Canadian artist who grew up in Gananoque, Ontario, located in the heart of the 1000 Islands. This stunning region, often regarded as one of the most beautiful parts of Eastern Ontario, played a significant role in shaping his passion for wildlife and nautical themes. Stuart primarily works with graphite, appreciating how the medium allows him to achieve the high level of detail for which his work is known.

In addition to his graphite drawings, Stuart has developed a unique mixed-media art form he calls “Artistic Cartography.” This technique combines geographical maps with graphite, Staedtler markers, and paint, creating a visual connection between the subject matter and its natural habitat.

Stuart’s pursuit of detail is driven by both his scientific and chemistry education, as well as a deep love for nature in its most authentic form.
