Meghan Porath
Revelstoke, B.C.
Meghan Porath is a contemporary artist and the former Director of the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre (RVAC), where she fosters a thriving creative community and supports fellow artists in their own artistic journeys. With a passion for both creating and curating, Porath has dedicated much of her career to championing the work of others, while simultaneously developing her own practice. Her art reflects a dynamic exploration of abstraction, and she is known for her unique use of wood cutouts as her primary medium.
As a creative leader, Porath is accustomed to inspiring and motivating fellow makers as they navigate their own artistic paths. This role as a mentor and advocate has deepened her understanding of the creative process, and she brings that knowledge into her own work, constantly experimenting with new techniques and mediums. While her primary medium is wood cutouts, Porath also enjoys exploring a variety of materials and methods, often incorporating mixed media, painting, and even sculpture into her pieces. This playful, experimental approach allows her to push the boundaries of form and composition.
